I think the reason for the blog is two-fold: one, I like to write. I was a journalism major in college (although I actually hated that major for reasons to be discussed another time), and as I've been a voracious reader my whole life, I've decided that I'd like to take a chance at putting my voice to paper (a.k.a. computer screen). Two, I'm a stay-at-home mom. And, while it's excessively entertaining to take care of three girls -- ages 4.5 (aka Gumby), 2.5 (aka Pokey) and 6 months (aka The Pipsqueak) -- who do crazy wacky things on a daily basis, it's also mind-numbing, especially since I used to use my brain for such things as negotiating trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (oh yeah, went to law school...what every good journalism major who doesn't want to be a journalist does). Now my critical/analytical thinking goes to such conundrums as the following:
(a) how many minutes should I let The Pipsqueak scream before I give up and go nurse her?
(b) what reverse psychology trick will work today to get Pokey to put on some freakin' pants? (she's a budding nudist, which pleases her dad to no end)
(c) why is it that skipping laundry for one day automatically equals an overflow of dirty clothes and/or an incredibly unmanageable folding pile
So alas, like everyone out there and their respective mothers (yes, I'm extremely proud that I can use the various they're/their/there forms correctly), I guess I'm officially a blogger. Let the games begin.
Now, for more important things: American Idol season premiere (yeah yeah, I know, the show was so 8 years ago, but for some reason I can't give it up. At least I don't watch The Bachelor).
